Principal Data Engineer
You’ll work with 800+ talented people across eight offices, united by our passion to collaborate, make a difference, and have fun while doing it!
You have 8+ years of experience with data engineering.
You love all things data. You share knowledge and love to learn. You have some experience designing, building and maintaining data infrastructure and are proficient in cloud-native dev ops.
You enjoy writing and maintaining ELTs and their orchestration in order to produce meaningful and timely insights.
Ideally you excel at integrating data from different sources, using SQL and Python, or Java, for exploratory analyses and data validation, and are well-versed in the advantages and limitations of various big data architectures and technologies.
Senior Software Engineer, Backend
What success looks like in your first 6 months:
In this role, you will build the services and underlying infrastructure that allows us to deal with terabytes of unstructured data and:
- contribute code to production systems from the get-go.
- spend time with different parts of the company to understand how Dataminr works.
- get up to speed on our tech stack and infrastructure with overview sessions and deep dives with your team.
- share responsibility for several microservices and design significant features that impact multiple services.
- be influential in helping plan the next iterations of our architecture as we strive to get more alerts to our clients faster and with near-perfect reliability.
- Lead important initiatives and mentor junior engineers.

Data Scientist
You will provide sales consulting presales support contributing towards the successful conversion of prospects to customers and use what you learn from customer interactions to improve our product and sales process.

What You’ll Do
Evaluate prospect’s data to deliver top-notch product demonstrations that illustrate how Einblick addresses the critical business issues that a prospect faces
Be an Einblick evangelist working very closely with the customer success team
Drive all aspects of successful Proof of Concepts from requirements and design to training and delivery
Provide strategic presales support for sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support
Inform prioritization and messaging for new product features and releases
Play a key role in uncovering opportunities to provide additional solutions within existing major accounts
Qualifications 3+ years of technical presales / sales engineer/ sales consulting experience, ideally in the business intelligence, analytics or data science space OR 3+ years as a data scientist Experience independently owning external-facing communication (written, visual, and verbal) and joy in empowering customers.
Backend Engineer
As a Backend Engineer, you will:
● Implement scalable REST APIs that are consumed by our customers & our internal team for both front-end interfaces and programmatic consumption
● Work closely with our data engineering to build data schemas to store & retrieve information necessary for the operation of our APIs, SDKs, and CLIs
● Exhibit continuous curiosity in understanding emerging technology that improve our ability to deliver Qualifications:
● 2+ years software engineering experience with an emphasis on building backend services
● Proficiency in at least one development language, such Python, Go, Scala, or Java
● Experience with backend REST-ful frameworks
● Experience designing & building unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests for a microservices architecture ● Experience integrating with DBs, SQL or NoSql, such as Postgres
● Experience deploying microservices using Docker, Kubernetes or similar frameworks
● CS (preferred) or other technical degree, or equivalent practical experience Preferences
● Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS and GCP
● Experience contributing to open-source software, building SDKs, or CLIs
● Familiarity with machine learning & AI
● Familiarity with enterprise integration technologies & protocols such as SAML and LDAP
Director of Engineering
As Director of Engineering at thatDot, you will be responsible for running the entire engineering organization. Job Requirements
5 years or more or progressively increasing management responsibility in a fast growing software engineering environment(s).
Strong interest and background in distributed systems, functional programming, and event-driven systems.
Experience with Scala, Java, or other strongly typed JVM languages. Experience working in Agile software development organizations leveraging continuous integration and deployment practices.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in an ever-changing environment. Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Location Support for fully-remote and in-person collaboration as it works best for individuals and the team. Much of our team is based in Portland, Oregon, but we are a remote-first company. Technical Customer Liaison
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Become familiar with all software projects within the organization in order to communicate on them effectively and accurately.
• Connect with external clients and share the benefits of Merly’s tech, with specific examples. • Interface with external clients with complete professionalism, respectfulness, and kindness.
• Must have the ability to incorporate creative approaches to various projects by taking initiative and working independently.

• At least three years of experience in C/C++. • At least two years of experience in Python.
• Two years of professional experience as an engineer or within a technical support role is preferred.
• Experience in a communication role preferred.
• Must have a positive and energetic attitude towards fast-paced Silicon Valley start-up environments.
• Must operate well in a team environment as well as perform job duties with little supervision.
• Ability to maintain a flexible working attitude, while performing job duties in stressful situations or handling complex communication.
• Must be able to professionally handle sensitive information and maintain complete confidentiality
