I will be walking through mental models to follow as a learning framework if you are choosing Data Science as a career and how can you be in the Top 10% of Data Scientists in the world.
Arwen Griffioen is the Data Science Team Lead at Zendesk Melbourne, where she leads the team responsible for producing Answer Bot and Content Cues.
She is passionate about improving the status of underrepresented groups in STEM fields, discussing the ethics of AI, and applying machine learning to make the world
a little bit better. She holds a Ph.D. in machine learning with a minor in ecoinformatics.
When Arwen’s not in front of a computer you can probably find her on roller skates with her family.
What even is a personal brand? Does it just mean that you have a lot of followers on the new business-focused social media websites? Ken Jee talks about how you can have a meaningful personal brand without self-promotion and how the content creation and storytelling can change the trajectory of your career or business in the data science domain.
As the Head of Data Science at Scouts Consulting Group, Ken spends his workdays improving the performance of athletes and teams by analyzing the data collected on them. In his free time, Ken dabbles in entrepreneurship and content creation. He is best known for his YouTube channel where he helps over 150,000 people navigate the data science landscape. He enjoys making commentary and tutorial videos that make the fields of data science and machine learning accessible to everyone. He started the #66DaysOfData challenge to help people create the habit of learning and working on projects every day. In his free time, Ken enjoys golf, fly fishing, yoga, jiu-jitsu, and cooking.
Daliana is a senior data scientist at Amazon with over 7 years of industry experience. She shares data science and career tips for 70k readers on Linkedin. She interviews data scientists and AI researchers on ‘the data scientist show’ to talk about their career journey.
Marwan Kashef, MMAI, is a data scientist, instructor, and mentor with over half a decade’s worth of experience in planning, building, and launching analytic & AI solutions. He has functioned as a data leader in both the private and public sectors and has worked with large-cap companies to enable their analytic implementations. With a Master of Management in Artificial Intelligence from Queen’s University, Marwan has had the opportunity to command his understanding of industry best practices for applying data science initiatives effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment. When not teaching at the University of Ottawa and Lighthouse Labs, he leads data science initiatives at Ottawa-based RVezy, the largest RV rental marketplace in North America.
