Virtual Conference FAQs


 

General Questions 

Attendees will receive an email with registration details instructions 5 days before the event.

Don’t miss the opportunity to join ODSC extra events! More information on offered networking events during ODSC West 2020 Virtual Conference by the link.

  • The ODSC West Virtual Conference and Expo is an event that will take place on the Virtual Platform. All conference presentations are broadcasted via webcast so you can watch from the comfort of your own office or home. You will have the ability to move from presentation to presentation as you see fit, and all the features of an in-person event will still be available (exhibit halls, networking, questions with presenters, downloadable collateral, etc.)

ODSC West 2020 Virtual Conference will take place on Virtual Platform on October 27 – October 30, 2020.

Sessions begin at 9:00 AM each day. The conference will close at 5:30 PM  Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).

  • 10/28/2020 and 10/29/20 –  AI Expo and Partners Demo Talks from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM  
  • 10/30/2020 – AI Career Expo from 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Yes, you can upgrade your pass. If you would like to attend more sessions than your pass allows, please upgrade your pass here or email info@odsc.com as soon as possible.

  • Groups 3 or more have special discounted prices here
  • Groups of 12 or more please contact info@odsc.com for a special discount.

Yes, there is a discount for Alumni. Please e-mail info@odsc.com for your dedicated discount.

  • Scholarship Applications are opened. Please check our website to apply. 
  • Scholarship passes are not interchangeable and cannot be upgraded.
  • Please note that successfully selected candidates will receive a confirmation email with details 7-14 days before the conference.
  • All of our Sessions will be recorded during the event and will be made available to attendees on Monday, 2d of November after the event on live platform and be available for 12 months after release. Recordings will also include the session slides. 
  • If your pass includes access to some / all of the recordings, you will receive instructions for accessing them via email following the conference. 
  • Please refrain from personal recording as speakers may want to edit the recording before release.

If you have completed ODSC Bootcamp we will email you your certificate of completion 7-10 days after the conference.

Volunteers Application is open. Please check our website to apply.

  • Laptop or personal computer
  • Strong, reliable wifi connection
  • Google Chrome is recommended to run the Virtual Conference platform.

Cancellations within 30 days of the event are non-refundable. Cancellations 60 days prior to the will be granted minus an administration fee. Other terms apply as noted in our terms and conditions. Please email info@odsc.com, if you would like to transfer your ticket. Ticket transfers may be requested up to 7 days before the conference. Please note: you can only transfer the pass only 1 time per conference or per attendee.

ODSC will offer a wide variety of networking opportunities:

  • Live Community Chat with different channels
  • Introductions; Introduce yourself and let the rest of the attendees know what it is you’re looking for. It’s a space where you can discuss what problems you’re facing or what solutions you potentially have for other attendee’s problems.
  • Hallway Track: General random conversations between attendees + speakers.

 

  • Virtual Meetups: A channel dedicated for people to connect, make plans for a group call and discuss a specific topic + virtual drinks etc.
  • ODSC Virtual Slack Workspace

 

    • The value of the Slack channel is an opportunity to meet people ahead of the event, get to know them. 
    • Create unique channels so you can create a mini-community within ODSC.
  • ODSC Virtual Networking events
  • The Open Data Science Conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone in breach of this code without a refund.
  • Please do not conduct any personal recordings. Once we have a speaker’s permission and the presentation is edited, we will then release content to our conference website.
  • Mute cell phones during all events.
  • No excessive photography.
  • No recruitment or solicitation unless you are with a sanctioned sponsor.
  • In consideration of fellow attendees, no food is allowed in the meeting rooms.
  • If you have any special needs, disabilities, or dietary restrictions that we can address to make your participation more enjoyable, please contact info@odsc.com

Registration & Logging in to the Virtual Conference

  • Attendees will receive an email with login instructions 5 days before the event. We encourage all attendees to log into the platform before the conference starts to make sure you can login. If you have trouble logging in, please email info@odsc.com
  • The conference will start daily at 9 am so attendees should be logged into the virtual platform and in their virtual sessions 30 mins earlier.

Schedule, Sessions & Conference Passes Information

  • You can explore the speakers, topics, and schedule before the conference here
  • During the conference, you’ll be able to view the agenda once you have logged into the Virtual Conference platform.

ODSC passes:

General Pass –  Access to breakout sessions, keynotes, and virtual events on October 29th-30th. Pre-conference training and conference training not included.

Training Half-Day Pass – Per 1/2 day course. Choose from 24 sessions on October 28th-30th.

Training Full-Day Pass – Per Full day course. These full-day courses will be broken into 2 half-day classes. Choose from 24 sessions on October 28th-30th.

One Day Pass –  Choose one of 4 days and get access to all sessions and recordings from the selected day.

Two Days Pass – Choose 2 of 4 days and get access to all sessions and recordings from the selected days

All Access Pass – Unlimited Courses & Access over 3 days on October 28th-30th.

An All Access Pass includes all talks, plus unlimited Training courses. Training courses will also be available on demand.

 

Virtual Bootcamp passes:

Virtual Bootcamp 3-Day Pass – includes access to Data Science Fundamentals and Training sessions on October 27th-29th.

Virtual Bootcamp 4-Day Pass  – includes access to Data Science Fundamentals, Talks, Workshops and Training sessions on October 27th-30th.

 

Business Passes:

1-Day AIx Passincludes access to Business talks on October 28th

3-Day AIx Pass includes access to Business talks and all ODSC talks on October 28th-30th, but excludes training sessions. 

 

ODSC Virtual Career Expo and AI Showcase Expo Hall passes:

Virtual AI Career Expo Passincludes access to Virtual Career Expo Hall, but excludes ODSC sessions.

Virtual AI Solution Showcase Expo Hall Pass – includes access to Virtual Expo Hall, but excludes ODSC sessions.

There will be Q&A Slack Channels for all sessions and attendees will be able to ask questions or make comments.

  • Please visit the Gotowebinar Support page for a complete list of common issues including trouble joining a session, audio trouble, connections, etc
  • If you continue having issues, please visit the Info Desk in the Virtual Conference or email info@odsc.com

Attendees can access the breakout talk sessions from the Virtual Conference lobby  in the Virtual Auditorium.

Switch tracks by selecting “Auditorium” from the main toolbar and selecting a new session to watch

Attending AI Solutions Showcase Expo 

You can easily access the expos from anywhere in the Virtual Conference by clicking on the “Career Expo” or “AI Expo Hall” buttons from the blue menu bar at the top (See below)

Please note:

AI Solutions Expo and Solution and Partner Demo Talks is on Wednesday, October 28th and Thursday, October 29th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM PDT;

AI Career Expo and Career Lab talks is on Friday, October 30th from 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM PDT 

The AI Solutions Expo will take place on Wednesday, October 28th and Thursday, October 29th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM PDT

  • The full AI Solutions Expo exhibitor list is located inside the Virtual AI Expo. To access, please enter the Virtual AI expo.
  • Once inside, the exhibitor list is located in the “Exhibitors Index” box on the lower left side of the screen. 
  • Click on any exhibitor’s name to be brought to their virtual booth to learn more about the company, save handouts and PDFs to your briefcase.

– Enter the platform using your credentials – Click Auditorium in Menu bar, In drop down list choose Demo Talks.

Attending Career Lab and Expo 

  • Login to Virtual Conference platform
  • From the virtual lobby, you can click on the “Career Hall” or select “Career Expo” from the blue menu bar at the top.

The AI Career Expo will take place on Friday, October 30th from 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM PDT

  • Over 15+ hiring partners will be seeking talented individuals during the Virtual AI Career Expo. 
  • Actionable advice from expert mentors about the best path to a career in AI.
  • Book a 1:1 session with a recruiter.
  • Ideal for job seekers from both the tech and business fields.
