Abstract: 

In this workshop you will learn how to train and deploy a chatbot to talk like you. We will introduce and explore the concepts of deep learning, word embeddings, and seq2seq. We will then take these concepts and learn how to practically deploy such a model by creating and exposing endpoints with Python Flask and Node Express. From this, we will interact with our model through a Facebook messenger bot.

Bio: 

Jennifer Van is a machine learning engineer with the Center for Machine Learning at Capital One. She currently leads a research team that investigates the theoretical underpinnings of deep generative models. Previously, she was a computational biology researcher in the Shehu Lab at George Mason University and a national level rugby player.
