
Abstract: We are living in a pivotal time where the choices we make in technology will create a lasting impact for generations to come. Now is the time to make sure we are creating inclusive pathways for diverse minds to enter the field and co-create ethical algorithms and compassionate AI.
Bio: Sadie St Lawrence is the Founder and CEO of Women in Data, an international social impact organization working to close the gender gap in technology and get more women in the C-Suite. She was the first female data science teacher to teach on the Coursera platform and has trained over 300,000 people in data science. In addition, she is also the Machine Learning Certificate designer for UC Davis and sits on multiple start up boards.
Women in Data has been rated as the #1 Community for Women in AI and Tech and is leading the movement to get more women into data careers. Currently, Women in Data is in 17 countries with over 50 chapters and a community of over 20,000 individuals.
Having a background in piano performance, neuroscience and data science, Sadie takes a creative, human centric approach to solving problems and measuring outcomes. She has consulting from organizations such as Google, the State of California Contact Tracing, and is the host of the Data Bytes Podcast.
