Abstract: More than just software, cognitive computing is computer simulation of human thought. When successful, it delivers a computer model which allows organizations to analyze unstructured data in real time, discover insight, investigate questions, and empower the decision-making process. Delivering on this promise of cognitive computing is not simple because language is complicated. It requires combining a set of technologies that utilize contextual understanding, pattern matching, natural language processing, linguistic analysis, and semantics to understand information in a way that is similar to the way the human brain is able connect information.
During this session, several technologies will be explained and demonstrated including:
• What is a semantic network, what makes it work and why it should matter to business.
• Semantic network visualization and live demonstration
• Content disambiguation demonstration
• Automated content enrichment with contextually correct metadata
• Demonstration of named entity extraction, categorization, content clustering and geo-spatial analysis
Bio: Bryan joined the software and technology industry as a Regional Vice President with a Silicon Valley learning management system start-up in 1998, following eleven years of corporate marketing in the entertainment industry. Since joining the software industry, he has been directly involved in launching and growing, from start-up to acquisition or IPO, four software companies in the US market. He is currently responsible for evangelizing an Expert System cognitive computing AI solution. A solution that is able to understand unstructured information in a way that mimics the human ability to comprehend information.
