Abstract: Data visualisation is an essential and established tool for every data scientist or analyst. But beyond exploratory data analysis, visualisation is also how we explain our insights to other stakeholders senior executives, colleagues, investors, customers or members of the public. Whether we're presenting simple insights or explaining complex models, our success depends on our ability to communicate.
In this session, communication consultant and data visualization specialist Alan Rutter will break down common challenges that data teams face in presenting their work to others, and suggest practical solutions which are often rooted in people and culture, rather than data and code. It is aimed at any data practitioner who is frequently presenting insights to other stakeholders.
Specific subjects covered will include tailoring presentations to non-expert audiences; playing an active role in educating and raising data literacy; and becoming an advocate for the power of data visualisation.
This session is for any data professional who understands their data, but wants to up their game when it comes to presenting with impact, changing minds and driving changes. No knowledge of specific coding languages or software is required.
